Cervical Spine - Craniovertebral & mid cervical regions
This one day course is designed for physiotherapists developing and refining their manual therapy skills, focused on the treatment of MSK disorders of the neck region. Taught by expert clinicians and skilled educators, emphasis will be placed on optimizing practical clinical skills in assessment and treatment, guided by current research. Both instructors are experienced clinicians and instructors for the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. At the end of this one day course, participants will have gained:
- A review of anatomy and biomechanics related to effective treatment of mechanical neck disorders
- Refined hands-on skills and clinical reasoning in the application of manual therapy based assessment
- A review of best practice in manual therapy using a case based approach for mechanical neck disorders
- Increased confidence in clinical decision making using integrated manual therapy, movement therapy exercise prescription
- Clarity in decision making about using Kaltenborn vs. Maitland based techniques & grade application
Prerequisites: physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, completion of Level 2 Orthopaedic Division course or equivalent.
